I.             Basic Functions:

Heads supervises and coordinates the activities of the Cataloging section. Develops and Heads, supervises and coordinates the activities of the Cataloging section. implements cataloging guidelines and best practices in support of the academic and research programs at the University, and in anticipation of latest emerging cataloging tools and technologies; performs original and complex cataloging of library materials; solves complex cataloging cases; exercises authority control over names, series, etc.; implements best procedures for cataloging of e-materials (metadata, etc.); prepares reports and compiles related statistical information; performs other related duties.

II.           Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in Library Science from an accredited university.

3 years’ library experience in an academic institution.

Good knowledge of Arabic and English, knowledge of French is desirable.

Knowledge of computer uses and applications.

Ability to respond and adapt to changing priorities and conditions.
